Matthew Carson Crossley
Mr. Crossley is Co-founder and Managing Partner at Carson Klinger, LLC. Mr. Crossley oversees the company’s acquisitions process, debt and equity fundraising, and investor relations. He is a member of the firm’s investment committee.
Before co-founding Carson Klinger, Mr. Crossley spent the past 7 years raising debt and equity for commercial real estate investors and developers with the capital markets and investment banking teams of JLL, Newmark Knight Frank and MAC Realty Advisors. During his tenure, Mr. Crossley was directly involved with the financing of $1.8 billion of debt and equity financings with a primary focus on multifamily housing and mixed-use assets in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States.
Prior to his capital placement roles, Mr. Crossley served as an asset management analyst with Real Estate Capital Partners and conducted financial analysis, asset management and reporting for multifamily assets and development sites in RECAP Funds IX, X, XI, Metro II and Metro III.
These Funds were invested in over 8,000 rental units across the United States with an estimated value of over $2.5 billion dollars.
Mr. Crossley currently serves an adjunct faculty member of Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies where he teaches classes focused on Structured Finance and Real Estate Investments and acts as a Capstone Advisor in the Master’s in Real Estate Program. Mr. Crossley obtained his Masters in Real Estate from Georgetown University and has a BA in Communication Studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Mr. Klinger has been in the asset management industry since 2005, with the past 8 years at IFC Asset Management Company, the World Bank’s wholly owned private equity firm. He started his career at Ernst & Young.
Mr. Klinger serves on the Executive Committee and is the Treasurer for the C.S. Lewis Institute, an international non-profit. He visits a juvenile detention center in Maryland twice a month to speak to the teens. Mr. Klinger earned his Masters in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, BA in Economics from Providence College, and spent a year at the University of Cambridge, England. He is in the inaugural class of the Rhode Island CPA Society’s Certified Sustainable Value Professional program.
Ms. Klinger is Vice President of Asset Management at Insight Property Group, responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the asset management function for the company, which provides strategic leadership to create and sustain value for the company’s portfolio. She is also responsible for implementing property specific business plans across Insight’s portfolio.
Prior to Insight Property Group, Ms, Klinger held executive asset management roles at Redbrick LMD, LLC and AvalonBay Communities. At Redbrick she led the development of the asset management function and operations for the company and maximized the performance and value of the company’s multifamily portfolio in the Washington, DC MSA. At AvalonBay, she was Director of Redevelopment & Asset Management and led the effort to expand and enhance the company’s asset management operations in response to portfolio growth and changing business needs including repositioning and redevelopment asset plans.
Ms. Klinger also previously held asset management roles with Federal Capital Partners and the Carlyle Group. With Federal Capital Partners, she developed and implemented value-add business plans for assets worth over $800 million located in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions of the U.S. With the Carlyle Group’s U.S. Real Estate Group, she managed and enhanced the value of a portfolio of assets worth over $900 million located in the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast regions of the U.S.
Ms. Klinger earned an AB cum laude in Social Studies from Harvard College.
Mr. Duerr has held multiple management and senior executive positions for Fortune 500 companies including Hershey Foods and Cardinal Health, as well as high tech firms including PSC. He founded WNY Asset Management, LLC and The CPA Financial Network; selling his interests in 2012 after almost 20 years of operations. Mr. Duerr is currently acts as a Strategic Advisor to CarsonKlinger, LLC.
Mr. Duerr graduated from SUNY with a degree in Finance, an MBA from Rochester Institute Of Technology, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Mr. Price has been a senior executive for two “Inc. 500” companies and spent the past 25 years of his career as a Chief Operating Officer and/or a Chief Financial Officer for large real estate development and home building companies. He currently serves as a Managing Director with RCLCO where he provides clients with strategic planning and corporate guidance related to homebuilding, mixed-use and urban-infill residential and commercial development; equity and debt structuring; UPREIT transactions; property management and leasing; as well as bankruptcy and workouts.
Over his career he has been involved in over $5.0 billion of real estate acquisition, construction, development and disposition activities. Prior to becoming a corporate officer, Scott was a Senior Manager specializing in the real estate industry with a large public accounting firm.
Scott earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and performed post graduate work towards his Masters in International Management at the University of Maryland. Scott is a Certified Public Accountant and is currently an adjunct faculty professor at Georgetown University’s Graduate School of Professional Studies – Real Estate, where he teaches classes on Distressed Real Estate and Strategies for Real Estate Companies.
